big thursday

i can't wait for this thursday to come. big premieres are coming to moscow. and two of them i have been waiting to see for quite a long time now.

first one is the second part of 'tres metros sobre il cielo' - tengo ganas de ti. this is the movie i have written about before in my blog. a mix of youth, love, emotions and beautiful spaniards has a continuation now, which i hope will be as great as its first part.



the second one is 'to rome with love' by woody allen. i haven't read any reviews about it, want to review this film myself after seeing it, so the only hope i have for it is to be at least as good as 'midnight in paris'. and i really feel it won't disappoint me, the first good sign being my favourite penelope cruz starring in it.

will post my emotions immediately by the end of this week

genetic love for music

the love for music is a truly genetic thing and my child is a living proof of this fact. during all nine months we have been listening to great music together - jazz, soul, funk, the latter being his favourite genre. when there was a need of checking how active the baby is and a special gadget was counting the kicks of the child, the only thing that worked for my baby was music. moreover, it was impossible for me to attend any kind of concert. i gave up on the dizzy gillespie all star big band concert, which i attended in moscow. the sound of piano, sax, trumpet and all other kinds of musical instruments drove my ilia crazy - he was dancing non-stop for two hours.

and now, being only 2 weeks old, his love for music is only growing. the only thing that stops him from crying except food is music. and he prefers live performances of course. his number one choice is my mom, who has great voice and of course, bachi, who can imitate all kinds of musical instruments. then comes ani, my dad and i am the last on the list. ilia already can distinguish between good and bad sound quality.

i am really curious about his future choice of profession, who knows what a great musician he will become.

i honestly believe this is absolutely true! flowers bring such a warm and sweet atmosphere wherever they are! for me personally, they are the best present with reason or without - i prefer flowers to anything else. 


you think it is a typical girlish thing to say? i have lots and lots of friends who don't care about them at all - why bother? flowers die so quickly. but this short life is what makes them so special - flowers brighten up the day immediately and disappear just the same way.


i really understand why my friend Khato decided to open her own flower shop. once you fall for the flowers, its impossible to fall out of love with them.

perfect couple

couples are actually called couples because they are two individuals of the same sort considered together. but all the couples are different, some of them you can't even call like that - because they are so very separate and when thinking about one of them you don't always remember that there is a second half. but two good friends of mine i want to write this post about are in my understanding the definition of the 'couple' word itself.

when i think about kakha, i automatically imagine katya and vice versa. kakha is one of my oldest friends and his perfectly beautiful wife is truly his second half. they do everything together, they fit each other like two pieces of one puzzle, in every sentence they mention each others names, think absolutely identically and are perfectly happy. you can see that without even hearing them talk. it is all written on their faces.

i wish everyone of my single and not only single readers to have such a second half in their life.

world's greatest aunt

here is a post for my little ilia's greatest aunt, i'm writing it just instead of him. greatest aunt, who sings him songs all the time so that he doesn't cry, doesn't sleep nights to help me feed and wash him, walks with him everyday and who said the most amazing thing to me the other day - 'you know i love him so much, that i don't have place for anyone of you left in my heart'.

when he grows up, ani will tell him lots of great things about his childhood, because she is always there remembering everything better than i do.

starry night

today this picture was posted in my friend list and i couldn't take my eyes off it. it has charmed me through my soul and i have been staring at it for quite a long time now. i have never heard of the painter - alex ruiz - neither did wikipedia, i have no idea what other paintings he has got, but this one is definitely something amazing. for a moment i wished i was in this field, i would lay down and stare at the sky for the whole night.

then i remembered some nice Betania evenings with my best friends, when we used to set up a special star-staring station - with blankets on the grass, barry white on the background and falling stars in the sky. we grow up, things change, but we should never forget to gather and do all those things that always made us happy. here is a song for my ani, sali, keti and marika - just to remember those great evenings and never loose them.
